A WSM member exposes one of the shadier anti - Lisbon treaty groups Irish citizens voted against the EU Nice treaty in June 2001 briefly throwing a spanner into the works of the neoliberal EU agenda. The response was to force a second vote accompanied by a lot of scare mongering the following year. Shortly before the second referendum the pro-neoliberal media 'revealed' that the leader of the right wing anti-treaty campaign had been present at far right meetings in Germany, something that helped scare people into voting for the treaty second time around.
Once more Irish citizens are voting on an EU treaty. This time around some months before the vote WSM member Chekov Feeny published this expose of the strange connections of another right wing anti-treaty group, an article that illustrates the inter imperialist rivalry between the supposed USA and EU 'allies'.. In part to seperate the anarchist 'No' campaign from the right but also to pre-empt a repeat of Nice 2 with such last minute 'revelations' being used to attack the no campaign in general. ...
Unconventional Denver is inviting YOU to an action camp in the foothills of the
Rockies. Come join us for a week of direct action training (lead by No War, No
Warming), medic training (put on by the world famous Denver Street Medics), a
DNC/RNC strategizing session and various action-oriented workshops. While
camping with our comrades just outside of Denver, we'll learn the tactics
necessary to confront the DNC and the police and corporate state that supports
it. ---- The camp will be held July 12th-18th. The cost is sliding scale from
$0-$50. Bring camping equipment, a strong desire to determine your own
destinies, and a friend or two (or just plan on making some friends at the

Observing an important milestone, the Republican National Convention Welcoming
Committee today marked the less than 100-day-out threshold, saying the
convention demonstrations and the people of Minneapolis-Saint Paul will be ready
to make history when the gavel doesn't drop at the Xcel Energy Center on Sept.
1, 2008. ---- "With less than 100 days remaining until we Crash the Convention
at the Xcel Energy Center, I am pleased to report our planning remains on track
and that we are preparing the ship for Ludicrous speed," said Ann O'Nymmity, a
Welcoming Committee spokesperson. ---- 'PREPARING THE SHIP FOR LUDICROUS SPEED'

Kim Keyser is an activist from the nascent anarchist movement in Norway - the
so-called "social democratic paradise" in Northern Europe. This summer he'll be
touring the US with an illustrated presentation called "The Prefigurative
Organization". The presentation will try to answer the question "How can we
reflect the future we want, in our present work?". It will touch upon subjects
such as direct democracy, direct action, workers councils, anarchist organizing
and involvement in social movements. ---- A complementing pamphlet called "The
Prefigurative Organization" - which has been made specifically for the speaking
tour - will be available. ---- After the presentation there will be a

A personal report from last week's action days for autonomous spaces in Berlin.
This report reflects the thoughts and opinions of the authors, not of any
campaign, although these opinions may be shared by others. ---- Berlin - in
Chaos! ---- Report back from Action Days for Autonomous Space May 27 to June 1
"we do not wish to find ourselves in a world where no one really lives, where no
one really knows anyone else, where everyone has become a mere cog in a machine
meshing with other cogs but remaining truly alone, then we must have the
strength to attack alienation in every way we can." ---- "We believe for a space
to be truly autonomous it must first be liberated. Liberated in our sense

The Workers Solidarity Movement are printing and distributing 50,000 of the
following leaflets in our campaign for a 'No' vote on the referendum on the
Lisbon Treaty. ---- WSM anti - Lisbon treaty leaflet ---- Lisbon - So What’s It
All About Then? ---- Over recent months, there’s been endless talk about the
Lisbon Treaty. Most political parties advise us that we’ll be embarrassed and
economically ruined if we don’t vote ‘Yes’. Groups advocating a ‘No’ vote tell
us that we will lose our democracy and sovereignty if we do vote ‘Yes’.
We as Anarchists think they have both missed the point. People in Ireland can do
a lot better than a choice between the clowns in the Dáil or those in Brussels.

Today some people claim that Christianity, rather than being an outdated
superstition, can be a part of anarchism. They have started groups of "christian
anarchists." Have they any real claim to serious consideration? What is
anarchism? Anarchism means "no power", no violent power, no power over people
not exercised by themselves, no State. A State is also an organisation of
people, but of a group of people who have taken all the power in a society into
their hands to the detriment of the rest of society. Understood in this way, is
anarchism at all compatible with Christian teachings? The anarchism developed
by Michael Bakunin was clearly anti-Christian. God is a Lord, a master. How can

Turf Wars: Low Income Neighbourhoods vs. Upscale Redevelopment
From 2004 to 2007, Tickets Under the Safe Streets Act have Increased 288%
As the grotesque oversupply of housing for the rich creeps into poor areas of the city, a ruthless drive to push out homeless people gathers force. People are targeted by cops. Those forced to beg on the streets are hounded and their civil liberties disregarded. Services to the homeless are curtailed by the city. Hundreds of shelter beds are taken out of the hostel system and the places that remain become overcrowded dangerous hell holes. Under the City's Streets to Homes project, homeless people are dumped in tiny rooms with no resources and no support, in conditions that make the shelters look humane. The War on Homeless People has grown uglier and gained in speed.
Defy the process of upscale development - join a takeover of a city park for the homeless. Help OCAP ensure that the covert plot to drive the homeless from view is made a public issue.
